Marion Bryant Jr, cherished father, loving grandfather, and treasured friend, passed away October 19,2015 at the age of 52.
Marion Bryant Jr was born December 4, 1963 to Paulina Davis and Marion Bryant Sr in San Bernardino, CA. All growing up Marion was referred to as Junior. At an early age Junior demonstrated immense athletic prowess and began playing baseball. During Juniors adolescents he developed his talents and dreamed of becoming a professional athlete to provide his mother and family with a better life. During high school Junior was introduced to football. Junior was an honor student and excelled in speech taking third place in a few speech competitions; he was also able to attract college scouts enough to be awarded a four year scholarship to the University of Utah.
In 1982 Junior started his football career as a linebacker at the University of Utah and also majoring in communications and business to help him after he retired from professional football. From the university Junior was able to play football with the semi-pro Lions and also tried out for the Dallas Cowboys.
Later in life Junior was better known as JB to friends and family, although his passion was mainly sports, he expanded his interests to playing poker, camping, and fishing with family and friends. JB would rarely miss a sporting event for any relative or friend that was participating in and loved to cheer them on. JB had the ability to make anyone smile or laugh and would light up any room he walked into with his charming demeanor. In his last few years he could always be found fishing at local ponds, camping with friends, or with family spending time with his grandsons.
Junior is survived by his father, Marion Bryant Jr; siblings, Jack Martin Murphy (Faye), Jacquelin Doris Murphy (Jimmy), Darlene Murphy, Marian Colleen Sharard, Marlene Wilson (Kenneth), Henry E. LeMont Bryant; cousin and best friend Samuel Geral Wright; his life companion, Rachelle Conley, children, Marion Bryant III, Ezekiel Bryant, Isiah Bryant, Breanna Stone (Keola), Keyana Wynn, Amber Riley (Xavier); grandchildren, Dakin Marion Kamuela Stone, Ikaika Makua Stone, Makakoa Lino Stone, Dante Nathanial Valdez, Martel Travon Valdez, D’tavyus J. Valdez and many more close friends and relatives.
Junior is preceded by his loving mother Paulina Davis.
Memorial services will be held Monday, October 26, 2015, 11 a.m - 1 p.m. at Aaron’s Mortuary 1050 S State St. Clearfield, UT 84015.
