Marion Charles Taylor (82) passed away with his loving family by his side on April 4, 2025. Marion was born on March 25, 1943, to Maurice and Naomi Taylor in Claremore, Oklahoma. Marion grew up in Bozeman, Montana and graduated from Bozeman Senior High. After high school, Marion enlisted into the Army in 1965 where he served for 3 years and was honorably discharged in 1968. During his enlistment he traveled all over Europe while being stationed in Germany. After his service, Marion worked in construction and eventually started a construction company called “Taylor Brothers Construction” where he worked with his brother Deland. From there, it became clear how talented and skilled he was at woodworking and carpentry. Marion had a special place in his heart for all children so he went on to start another business named “Taylor Made Toys” where he made wooden toys of all types and sizes with his youngest brother, Paul. He traveled from state to state selling his toys at craft shows and fairs around the country delighting children of all ages.
Although Marion never had children of his own, he adored and loved his nieces and nephews and treated them all as if they were his own. He spoke of all of his nieces and nephews with great pride and joy and knew all of the details in each of their lives. He was full of knowledge and sound advice and could give it sternly, but lovingly. He was always willing to give it without criticism or judgement and never failed to give a word of praise. Marion was a die-hard Jazz fan, and he loved the Denver Broncos. You could catch him sitting in his recliner with his beloved Diet Pepsi in hand when the game was about to come on. Marion’s favorite activity was playing cards, and he never missed an opportunity to play with family and friends and taught just about all of us a game or two. He always laughed at a good prank, liked to watch Dancing with the Stars, loved a good musical, and enjoyed reading a good book.
He touched the lives of so many with his infectious love, his honesty and positivity, his knowledge, his laughter, his jokes, his kindness, and simply being in his presence has changed our lives in ways others who had not known him would never understand. He was a simple man with a sweet soul who has forever left an imprint on the hearts of those lucky enough to cross his path. He will be cherished and remembered for his inspirational positivity and his Oklahoma Tuxedos, but mostly for how he has forever changed our lives with just a twinkle in his eye, the gentleness of his heart, and a smile that never faded. He is proof that changing the world for the better doesn’t need an army, just one simple man with a heart full of gold and never-ending unconditional love.
We ALL thank you Uncle Marion for helping raise us. For molding us into the people we are today and for loving us to the moon and stars. You are one in a million... who will forever be bestowed in our lives, our children's lives, and our children’s children’s lives for many years to come. You were an angel here on earth, Marion Charles Taylor. You have left a hole in our hearts that will not be filled, but we can go on being grateful for the tremendous impact you have left forever in our hearts.
May you rest in peace until we meet again. Sweet Dreams and May You Fly Like the Angel You Are!
