Mary R Costesso

September 1, 1921 — December 26, 2016

Mary R. Costesso

Mary Rauzi Costesso born September 1, 1921 to the parents Mike and Colomba Rauzi in West Weber, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2016 at Lotus Park Assisted Living surrounded by her family.   On July 14, 1945 she married Dario Costesso at St. Joseph Catholic Church.  They lived on their farm in West Weber and together they raised four children.

Mary enjoyed being a member of the St. Madeline Guild.  She held several positions in her church and was an active member in the Trentini Italians of Utah.  She also was awarded “woman of the year” at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.  Her interests included gardening, embroidery work, Italian cooking, quilting, and socializing with family and friends.  Mary retired from Defense Depot of Ogden.  After she retired, she enjoyed working on their dairy farm.

Mary was greatly admired and respected.  Not just for what she did for her family and community, but for the person she was.  Mary always welcomed everyone into her home and she made sure that everyone left feeling loved.   You could not leave her place without her expressing her gratitude each and every time.

She has built a beautiful legacy that will live on forever and we are beyond grateful and proud to be part of her family.

Surviving are her children Dennis (Cecilia) Costesso, MaryAnn (Jeff) Ciuffreda and Jean (Fred) Drysdale; 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents, Mike and Colomba Rauzi;  her brother, Aldo Rauzi; her husband, Dario Costesso and her two daughters, Baby Costesso and Linda Telford.

The family would like to thank the caring staff at Lotus Park Assisted Living for their kind and wonderful friendships.

In lieu flowers please make donations to the St Mary Catholic Church Building Fund.

A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, December 31, 2016 at 11:00 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 4050 S. 3900 W. in West Haven.   A rosary will be held prior to the services from 8:00 to 8:30 am and a viewing from 8:30 to 10:15 am at Aaron’s Mortuary, 496 24th Street in Ogden.  Interment will be held at the Ogden City Cemetery.
