Megan Christine Howarth, 29, passed away on April 18, 2018 in Ogden, UT due to a system-wide infection that her weakened immune system was unable to overcome. She was born to Steven Howarth and Michelle (Mickie) Allred Howarth on March 13, 1989 in Provo, Utah. She lived in Utah, Texas, and Kentucky.
Megan was a very intelligent, driven, and caring woman with a brilliant sense of humor. When not at work, much of her time was spent helping others. She enjoyed organizing benefits, supporting causes and protests, and giving what she could without judging. In her youth she was friendly, loved animals, and was a voracious reader – characteristics which lasted throughout her life. Just before her 18th birthday, Megan was diagnosed with several autoimmune diseases which caused her to have some serious physical limitations. Despite the ongoing trials she faced, Megan was fiercely independent, always did her best, and constantly expanded her horizons. After graduation from NUAMES (Northern Utah Academy for Math, Engineering, and Science) High School and coursework at Weber State University, she left home to start college at Utah State University on a full-ride scholarship. Although her health didn’t allow her to finish her education, she was determined to be independent and successful. She stayed in Logan, UT where public transportation allowed her to thrive.
Megan worked for Convergys providing technical support for internet services. She owned her own home and rented rooms to good people who turned into great friends. She was very active with political and social causes, always defending the underdog. She was blessed with a huge network of supportive friends.
Megan is preceded in death by her grandparents, Lynn and Marjorie Howarth. She is survived by her parents, Steve and Mickie Howarth, her brother Jared, her sisters Alexa and Ericka, her grandparents Leron and Rosalyn Allred, and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. We have no doubt that she and her grandparents and other relatives are catching up and that she is now enjoying freedom from her broken down body.
