Michael J Alberts

 Michael J Alberts was born June 30, 1965.  He passed away on the morning of January 17, 2018.  He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Albert K. Alberts and Geessien (Kay) Blokzyl;also by a nephew he adored, Ethan J. Alberts.

    He is survived by 6 brothers and 4 sisters listed in age order: Jan (Karen); Elizabeth (Erwin) Bolter; Peter (Kim); Samuel (Lorna); Daniel (Becky); Namokia Kyung (Rebecca) (Kim) Redman; Stephanie Brasher; David; Jeffrey (Amber); and Amy.

    Michael had been living with his oldest brother, Jan (Karen) for the past 20 years, since his mother died. Because of all the grandkids, Mike called Karen "Opoe" (Dutch for grandmother). Mike was mentally disabled since birth and was a Celestial Child. He had many challenges in this life, but was cheerful through most of them.  He will be missed greatly and Karen will miss being "fired" every day by him.

    He went to a Day Program at TURN Community Services and loved going there every day, especially riding the shuttle.  He loved his helper, Tina, and talked about her often.  He also attended Special Needs Mutual in Layton.  He enjoyed going each week and loved the special needs scouting program.

    He enjoyed the simple things of life.  He liked old TV shows, especially Westerns.  He liked anything Superman. He really loved his Superman watch, that he received from his nephew, Richard.
