Michael Lynn Muhlestein

April 29, 1979 — February 22, 2025

Waxahachie

Michael Lynn Muhlestein, 45, of Waxahachie, Texas, passed away on February 22, 2025, due to heart failure. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend whose kindness and generosity touched many lives.

He was born April 29th, 1979 in Payson, UT to Lynn and Becky Muhlestein. He grew up surrounded by love, sharing his childhood with his four sisters. He was a fun, rambunctious and spirited kid. If there was a good time to be had, he was there. He loved playing sports, especially baseball and football. He graduated from Davis High School in 1997 and served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Florianopolis, Brazil. Later, he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from Weber State University.

He married his sweetheart, Lindsay Davis, in the Salt Lake Temple on December 27th, 2000. Together they have five wonderful children. He was a loving and devoted husband and father. Mike and Linds built a beautiful life together with love and faith at the center of their home. He found joy in outdoor adventures and had a passion for barbecuing, often gathering loved ones around the grill to share great food and even better company. His quick wit, warm heart, and unwavering generosity will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Michael had a strong work ethic and was dedicated to his career. He managed a Home Depot in Elko, Nevada, before transitioning into healthcare administration, earning his license and working for the Ensign Group. His career took his family to Texas in 2014, where they put down roots and were very active in their community.

Service was a fundamental part of Michael’s life. He faithfully served in various church callings, and was a beloved Bishop, always offering guidance and support to those in need. His ability to fix anything extended beyond mechanics—he had a gift for helping people mend their hearts and lives as well.

Michael’s legacy of love, service, and faith will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him. He is survived by his wife, Lindsay, five children, Rex, Reese, Luke, Maggie, and Tess, his parents, Lynn and Becky, and his sisters, Kirsten (Jed), Karlee (Nate), Andrea (Deven), and Ashlee (Dan).
