Michael Jacob Tschudy

May 7, 1987 — August 4, 2017

Michael Jacob Tschudy, age 30, passed to the other side peacefully, on Friday morning, the 4th of August 2017, in his Ogden Utah home. Mike was born at a United States Air Force (USAF), military hospital co-located with Offutt Air Force Base Nebraska on the 7th of May 1987, in the environs of Omaha Nebraska to James II and Lorraine (Bernstein) Tschudy. The 9th child of a large military family, Mike moved frequently during his formative years, including many stateside military assignments and one three-year tour in Castelvolturno Italy. Mike very much loved his life and his role in his large, military, LDS family. Mike was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS); enjoyed a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ; and shared his beliefs without hesitation with anyone who would listen.

Mike enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 2008; where he served happily until he was honorably discharged, following extensive brain surgery to correct two aneurysms. Following his discharge as a disabled veteran, Mike became very active in the U.S. Veteran’s Affairs “Crows’ Nest” and became an example that many followed in learning to cope with their disabilities.

Mike would quickly respond, that the single, most outstanding accomplishment of his short mortal sojourn, was fathering his daughter – Lexi Lynn Stoops, the center and focus of his life. Other accomplishments included the award of Eagle Scout (BSA), honorable military service, member missionary extraordinaire, and unfettered charity, empathy, and kindness for all – even in the midst of personal disability and affliction. He always saw the best in others and he forgave freely without compunction. In addition to his daughter, Lexi, and his immediate family, Mike enjoyed his cats, Frisbee golf, hanging with friends, on-line gaming, music, his VW EOS, and swimming in the Weber River; even in the cold of winter.

Mike was preceded into the spirit world by his nephew, Oscar Noel Blanton and is survived by all of his immediate family. His brothers and sisters include: Casey Gilchrist, Annette Miller, Fife Tschudy, James Tschudy III, Kasandra Blanton, Joseph Tschudy, Benjamin Tschudy, Katherine Thompson, David Tschudy, Sarah Lippold, Andrew Tschudy, and Ryan Tschudy; also his foster brothers of many years, Jason and CJ Phelps. We gratefully await the promised day of resurrection when our family will be again complete!

Special thanks for assistance rendered during this difficult time go to Jessica Stoops (mother of Lexi Lynn); his grandmother, Belva Tschudy; and his brothers and sisters.

“But charity is the pure love of Christ, and it endureth forever; and whoso is found possessed of it at the last day, it shall be well with him.”

A Viewing will be held Monday evening, August 14, 2017 from 6 to 8 pm at Aaron's Mortuary, 496 24th Street, Ogden, Utah.   A Graveside Service with military honors will be held Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at 11 am at Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd, Ogden, Utah.
