Michele Alba Johansen

Michele Alba Johansen, 60, of Ogden, passed away on August 11, 2022 surrounded by her children after a long battle with Stage 5 Kidney Disease. 

Michele was born in Ogden, UT to Yolanda Manfredi and Grant Spendlove on February 4, 1962. She attended schools in Washington Terrace. She married Steve Johansen on December 1, 1978 in Ogden, UT. 

She held many jobs over the years but her main job was being a mom to Josh and Kasey and then as a nona/grandma to her five grandchildren. In her youth she was involved in cheerleading, gymnastics, and softball.  As a gymnast she competed at the Nationals in San Francisco where she took fifth place.  She enjoyed all types of music but country was her favorite.  As a mom she was heavily involved and supportive with her children’s sports, activities and interests. Later in life she enjoyed bingo and playing with her grandkids. She was very kind, smart and sociable.  She was always making friends and people laugh wherever she was.  She had the biggest heart and was always checking up on her kids, parents and siblings.  

Michele is preceded in death by Yolanda Manfredi Spendlove (mother) and Deborah Gamble (sister).

Michele is survived by her children; Joshua (Sara) Johansen; Kasey (Jarek Brown) Johansen; her father Grant Spendlove; her brothers and sisters; Judy Martin; Jay (Terry) Spendlove; Diane Pennington; Michael (Laura) Spendlove; Shawn Spendlove and her five grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

Viewing will be held Wednesday, August 17, 2022 from 6-8 pm at Aaron’s Mortuary, 796 24^th Street, Ogden, with the Holy Rosary at 7pm.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Josephs, Thursday, August 18, 2022 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at the Ogden City Cemetery.

The family of Michele wished to extend our sincere thanks to the team at the Mark Lindsay Dialysis Center and to the special people at Mt. Ogden Rehabilitation Center for taking care of her over the years.
