Mike D Rose, 72, passed away peacefully, March 19,2017, surrounded by family.
Mike was born to Dail and Lenore Rose and raised in Ogden, Utah. Mike married Sally Martinez and was later divorced. During their marriage, he was blessed with two children.
He was later married to the love of his life, Patricia Gallegos referred to by Mike as “Lover”, They were blessed with five children.
Mike had an adventurous spirit and was always meeting new people which allowed him to form many life-long friendships. He loved to invent things and tinker in his shop, a hobby he shared with his father from a very young age. Mike worked as a welder for many years and later as a mechanic for Ogden City. After his retirement in 2001 he enjoyed staying busy and worked various jobs to fill his days. One of his favorite positions was working at Smith & Edwards in the horse and tack section. He loved working there and the fact that most everyone he came in contact with already had something in common with him, the love of horses. Mike was currently employed at Wolf Ridge Construction, a family owned business. Mike worked side by side with his Daughter, Son- In-Law, Grandchildren and even a Great Grandson.
Mike has always been a person that turned his dreams into reality. One of his biggest dreams came at a young age when he decided to be a be a Cowboy. Mike enjoyed everything outdoors including riding his horses, fishing, and panning for gold. He had a smile that could light up a room. He was a great listener and had a way of making everyone feel like they were the most important person in the world. He will be remembered for many different things but most of all his gentle heart and kind spirit. One thing is for sure, If you were lucky enough to come in contact with Mike, you were truly referred to as his friend from that point on. Mike made a huge impact in the life of everyone he knew and he will be deeply missed.
Mike leaves behind is his wife, Patricia Rose;, six children: Michael Rose, Fred (Janet), Stephen (Debbie), Gina (Rod), Cyndi (Jason), Tony (Merideth); many grandchildren and great-grand-children; as well as his sibling:; Coleen Rowley, Julie Allen, Jeff Rose.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 11 am at Aaron’s Mortuary, 496 24th Street ,Ogden, UT.
A reception for friends and family will follow from 2 to 4 pm at the Plain City Lions Club, 4350 W 2590 N, Plain City, Utah.
