Morgan Glade Edwards
Known by friends as Glade Morgan
Glade left this life on 7/4/2017 in Salt Lake City at the University of Utah Hospital, at 12:30 pm. He would have appreciated the fact that he passed on the same day as John Adams and Thomas Jefferson.
Glade was born 12/26/1937 in Logan, Utah to Morgan Walton Edwards and Tessie Harris Edwards and he was their only child. He is survived by his wife, Eva, three children-Patrick (spouse Molly), Ann, and Steven (spouse Jaye), and 10 grand-children.
Glade grew up in Smithfield, Utah, and began work in his fathers’ grocery store. He attended Utah State University in Logan, Utah, and graduated with a Bachelors’ degree in music and English, along with a certificate for secondary education. He taught music and English for 35 years, enlightening the lives of over 35,000 students.
His life was filled with adventure and joy. He and Eva traveled the world, going where they wanted, and enjoyed adventures with the kids when they came along. He was a very caring father, who always had the families best interests in mind, making sure that they all learned about life, politics, and the ways of the world, and was always there to pick them up if they were ever to falter, dust them off, and remind them that life goes on.
Eva and Glade celebrated their 50th anniversary 8/21/2015 and were best friends since before they were joined.
Glade spent two years in the Army and was stationed in South Korea, where he played in the Generals band and led the marches as the Drum Major.
