Myrna Kay Christianson

March 14, 1936 — February 20, 2024

Myrna Kay Christianson, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, returned to her Heavenly Father on February 20, 2024, at the age of 87.

She was born March 14, 1936, to David Morse Anderson and Mildred Nellie Stokes in Riverdale, Idaho. She was the 4th of 5 children. She had 3 sisters, Faye, Melba, Francy, and a brother, DeVerl.

Myrna began her schooling at a young age as she asked her father daily if she could go to school with him. He was the schoolteacher of a small, one-room schoolhouse of grades Kindergarten through 8th all in the same room. She graduated from Weber High School in Ogden, Utah.

She met and fell in love with her husband Keith Christianson in Ogden, Utah. She married him on April 15, 1955, they were sealed in the Logan Temple in 1971. They were married for 62 years.

Myrna began her first job at Hill Air Force Base as a typist, and then worked at IRS where she retired as an Analyst after working for the government for 39 years. Once Myrna retired, she loved to travel to her house in Yuma, Arizona in the winter. She had friends from her work who also spent winters in Arizona. In the summer she would go to her Bear Lake, Utah property and garden and enjoy the view of the lake. She resided in North Ogden, Utah when she wasn't traveling.

Myrna belonged to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she held many callings including Young Women’s Instructor and served in the Relief Society Organization.

Myrna was very talented and loved to use her artistic gifts to create. She loved painting, crocheting, embroidery, and sewing. Her favorite thing was to garden and grow flowers. She had a fun personality and was quick-witted. Everyone who knew her loved her.

We will miss her but are happy for her to be reunited with her husband Keith, her son Mitch, and her daughter Annette.

Myrna is survived by her son, Kevin Christianson, Ogden, Utah; daughter Valerie (Scott) Maw, West Haven, Utah; 9 grandchildren, Kasey (Tricia) Christianson, Robyn (Ron) Wilson, Celeste Christianson, Clint (Vonda) Benson, Megan (Andy) Davis, Tyler Benson, Chelsey (Andy) Tilby, Rory Davis, Shanda Davis; 22 great-grandchildren; her loving sister, Francy (Roger) Forsberg, Pleasant View, Utah.
