Nancy Ann Pedersen

April 6, 1948 — January 26, 2025

Nancy Ann Pedersen, a passionate advocate, skilled artisan, and fearless spirit, was born on April 6, 1948, and passed away at home on January 26, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Nancy lived with a deep sense of purpose, dedicating herself to the causes she believed in—especially the protection of Native American lands and monuments. Never one to sit on the sidelines, she attended rallies, engaged with lawmakers (keeping Congress’s phone number in her phone), and made her voice heard. She believed in standing up for what was right and led by example.

A true adventurer at heart, Nancy embraced life with enthusiasm. In her younger years, she took to the skies as a skydiver, never afraid to chase excitement and new experiences.

She was also incredibly talented with her hands, mastering sewing, knitting, and crocheting, and was always eager to learn a new instrument. Her creativity and curiosity knew no bounds, and she brought warmth and artistry into everything she did.

After retiring from the IRS, Nancy pursued her passion for the unknown, working with the Paranormal Investigation Team of Utah. She loved exploring history and mystery, always seeking to uncover new knowledge and experiences.

Above all, Nancy was known for her generosity. She gave freely and wholeheartedly to her family and friends, always finding ways to support and uplift those she loved. Whether through a handmade gift, a thoughtful gesture, or simply being there when someone needed her, she made the people in her life feel valued and cared for.

Nancy had an immense love for all animals, but her dogs held a special place in her heart. They were her constant companions, and she cared for them with passion and devotion.

Nancy married Bert Pedersen in 1980 and was the mother of Jeff Pedersen (Tiffany Pedersen) and Casey Pedersen. From a previous marriage to Dale Linford, she was also the mother of Shelly Linford Halacy and Steven Linford. She was a cherished grandmother to several grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sherman and Kathleen Sutliff, and her sister, Janet Sutliff Jones. Her legacy of passion, generosity, and love will be carried on by her family and all who were lucky enough to know her.

Nancy’s life was one of action, creativity, and heart. She will be deeply missed.
