Our loving father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away Oct. 25th 2013 after a courageous fight with cancer. Neil was born on July 22, 1939 to Harry R Dodge and M. Aileen Christianson in Ogden Utah.
Neil was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day- Saints in West Haven.
He was a lifelong member of the Ogden Gun Club, Dad loved hunting, fishing, horseback riding and Trap Shooting, he loved spending time with his family. He lived to dance, loved going to the Golden Hours Senior Center and dancing with all the Ladies, he was always ready to go to the eagles, and the Clearfield Senior dance.
Neil was married to his best friend Joanne Swift Dodge for 54 wonderful years. They were blessed with 4 children.
He is survived by two daughters, Shelly ( Rob ) Cowperthwaite and Dawnette Anderson Rust; three sisters, Joan Dunkley, Janet ( Dale ) Rohwer, and Carma (Bruce ) Izatt; two brothers, Val C. ( Margaret ) Dodge and Dennis ( Darlene ) Chugg; 9 Grandkids, and 6 great grand kids whom he loved dearly, , ,
He was preceded in death by his wife,Joanne; his mother and father; his two sons, Ronnie and Keith Dodge; one brother, Robert A. Dodge; and one sister, Katherine Ilynn Dodge Clark.
Neil was a member of the Operators Engineers, worked at Fife Construction for 21 years and Whitaker's Construction until he retired.
It is time for you now Dad to go sit high on your mountain, You are at peace now with your loved ones who have passed before you. " HAPPY TRAILS TO YOU."
A celebration of his life will be held at the Golden Hour Senior Center on Oct. 30, 2013 from 6 a" 8 pm, at 650 25th Street.
In lieu of flowers donations would be appreciated.
