Nellie Francis Johnson

May 16, 1952 — January 18, 2013

Our beloved Nellie Francis Johnson was called home to our Heavenly Father at 3:46 am Friday morning, 1-18-2013 while being treated at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah.

Nellie was born on May 16, 1952 in Denver, Colorado. She was the first born child, born a month premature to her parents Richard Clark Johnson Sr. and Flora May Davis Johnson. She was a fighter from the very start. She was then followed by five siblings, Richard Clark Johnson Jr., Jack Joseph Johnson (aka Morgan), LeRoy Leslie Johnson, Anna Marie Johnson, and Casey Dell Johnson. After marrying, young Nellie worked as a barmaid in Texas, a job she was very proud of. Just before the birth of her second child, Myra Kay she moved home to be with her Grandmother Evelyn Virginia Johnson, where she tried to develop parenting skills. Nellie lived the life of a survivor, never loosing faith in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Even in her times of great poverty, she was a giving soul who treated all like family.

Nellie is survived by her brother LeRoy and sister Anna. She also leaves behind her daughter Myra Kay Rommel and son Steven 'Red' Mortensen, and three daughters whose whereabouts are unknown, Nellie was the proud grandmother of four beautiful children, Tracy Ugene Nix(22), Anastasia Holleyman(20), Alexander Jay Eugene Martin(17), and Wyatt Nathaniel Rommel(14), and one handsome great grandson Dekota Nix(2).

Our family would like to thank all of those who prayed for Nellie, and helped her find peace in joining our loved ones during their time of spiritual rest. Heavenly Father gave her a second chance, and transformed her, bringing peace to her heart on her journey to the next step. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 11 am to the Farr West 6th Ward Chapel, 2132 W 2700 N, Farr West. A viewing will be held from 09:45 to 10:45 prior to the service at the church. Interment Kaysville City Cemetery.
