Ona Jean Davis

Ona Jean Davis, beloved wife, mother, grandmother,great grand mother, great great grand mother, aunt, sister and friend passed away peacefully at Davis Hospital in Layton, Utah on August 14, 2008 at the age 76.

Ona was born April 1, 1932 in Freeport, Texas and a resident of Richmond, California. The third oldest of Mary and Cornelius Cox's five children. She moved to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1976.

Ona Davis a resident of Clinton, Utah. She attended Westminister College in Salt Lake City, Utah where she received her bachelor degree in Education and later returned and received her master degree in mathematics.

Ona was the first Africian American women to become a UTA bus driver in Salt Lake City, Utah. She later became a school teacher at Clearfield Job Corp. Center in Clearfield, Utah where she taught for 25 years.

Survived by her bother Joe Scale and sister Jerry Scales. She has eight childern, daughters Jean Williams and Jonaetta Rodrigous Son's Tyrone Davis, Kaster Davis, Johnelle Davis Jr., Kelvin L. Davis, (deceaced) M. Elliote Davis and Jack Davis. 36 Grand childern, 38 great grand childern and 1 great great grand child which she loved all dearly.

Ona was a intelligent, passionate, women full of life and energy.She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She will always be in our hearts, may she rest in peace. May the Lord Jesus Christ rest with her forever.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 11am. at Griffin Memorial Church of God in Christ, 2424 Avenue East St. Ogden. Utah 84401.

Internment will at Clinton City Cemetery.
