Pamela Jean Vaughn passed away on January 21st, 2014. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to everyone who knew her. She is survived by her son, John, her grandchildren, Alix, Taylor and Jaiden, her sister Linda, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family.
Pam began motherhood as a teen, and married the father, a member of the military. She moved to Washington with her husband, and gave birth to her only child. With her young son, they traveled to Germany to live for several years, and after that, lived in Kansas, Colorado, and finally settled back in Utah. Pam worked at the Internal Revenue Service in Ogden for many years before retiring. Pam married again, and after that marriage was over, rekindled a romance with her high school sweetheart, Sam, who was taken from her suddenly and too soon with a heart attack.
Pam's son had three children, and she loved being a grandma. Her grandkids were the light of her life, and she loved them with every bit of her heart. She loved spending holidays with her granddaughters, and taking them on special trips.
Pam's special companions were her two dogs, Shiloh and Polly. Shiloh had been Sam's dog, and was friendly and funny. Polly was a teacup poodle, and accompanied Pam nearly everywhere she went.
Pam was a generous soul. She was accepting of all people, regardless of race, religion or sexual preference. She loved giving, and was a master gift giver. She was an avid reader, loved her coffee, and enjoyed trips to Wendover and Idaho to visit casinos. She was a fan of Video Poker and penny slot machines.
Pam struggled for many years with health issues, but through it all, loved her family and friends unconditionally. She touched many hearts, and her memories will live on with all that loved her.
A celebration and memorial will be held on February 2nd, from 10AM a" 2PM at the Comfort Suites Hotel in Ogden, 2250 S 1200 W, in the Sahara room. This informal memorial is casual dress, will have refreshments, and anyone who wishes may speak about how they remember Pam best. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Pam's name to your favorite pet-related non-profit organization.
