Phuong Nguyen passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, March 9, 2009, after battling breast cancer for thirteen years, with her family at her side. She was born in Saigon, Vietnam on January 1, 1954 to Lien Tan Le and Dao Thi Tran Le.
Phuong graduated with a Chemical Engineering Degree from Saigon University as well as a Electrical Engineering Degree at Weber State.
She loves the Lord and served many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Phuong loved to garden and enjoyed canoeing with her family. Phuong loved life and deeply appreciated her freedom and opportunities she had by living in America.
Phuong is survived by her husband, three sons; Joseph, Jacob and Joshua Nguyen, four brothers; Le Minh Tam (Duong Thi Hoa), Le Tan Khoa (Ly Thi Ngoc Dung), Le Minh Thien, Le Minh Chanh, two sisters; Le Ngoc Tho and Le Ngoc Huong.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. a" No. Ogden 22nd Ward, LDS Chapel, 2850 N. 950 E. No. Ogden, UT.
The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Dr. Vincent Hansen and nursing staff at Utah Hematology-Oncology, McKay-Dee Hospital.
Interment will be Ben Lomond Cemetery.
