Ralph L Andersen

November 15, 1932 — January 14, 2015

Ralph L. (Andy) Andersen, 82,  passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 14, 2015.  He was born November 15, 1932  to Neils Andersen and Edith Hansen Andersen in Ogden, Utah.
He graduated from Ogden High School and then entered the US Navy in December 1955  where he served for four years.   He served during the Korean conflict.
Andy  married Joyce Powers and together they raised  four children in North Ogden.  
He was one of the initiators of the North Ogden Little League football program and coached for 16 years.  One of his greatest enjoyments was mentoring kids in football and many members of his teams still remember him.
Andy loved exploring and knew all the back-roads in Utah.
He was a computer programmer at Hill AFB where he retired after 31 years.  After retirement he worked at Smith and Edwards where Andy could find “anything” for you.  
Andy enjoyed fishing and loved watching his grandchildren’s ball games.  
He is survived by Rick Andersen of St George, Rodney (Shannon) Andersen of Pleasant View, Roxanne (Michael) Arave of Farr West and Ralph (Heidi) Andersen of Midway; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by a sister, Lorraine Vause.
He is preceded in death by  his parents; sister, Illene Knight; and two grandchildren, Tara Lyn Andersen and Justin Andersen.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at 11 am at the LDS Church, 770 E 2100 N, North Ogden, Utah 84414.   A viewing  will be held from 10 to 10:45 am prior to the service at the church.  Interment will follow at the Utah Veterans Memorial Park in Bluffdale, Utah.
