Raquel Angela Layton

On December 2, 2021, our beautiful Christmas angel, Raquel Angela Layton (Kelly Sunshine) 49, of Ogden, peacefully returned to the loving arms of her heavenly father.

She was born December 25, 1971, in Logan, Utah, to Gerald LeGrande Olsen and Sherin Taysom Olsen. She graduated from Murray High in 1990. She went on to work at Sysco, and later worked in custom screen printing and embroidery.

Raquel had a heart of gold and loved her family and friends fiercely. When she said she loved you, she meant it. You could feel it from her heart to yours. She was blessed with a great sense of humor and infectious laughter and lit up any room she walked into. She was always optimistic, and had a knack for finding the good, even in the worst of times. It was never a dull day with Raquel. She brought brightness, warmth, and comfort to everyone she knew, and often reminded us to smile every day. She was sweet, kind, and compassionate, and will be deeply missed. She found comfort in the simple things of life such as her wind chimes, stuffed animals, and making her famous spaghetti. She was an over thinker and would think until the issue was solved. She was always happy, spunky, and full of life, and always quick to forgive. She was obsessed with dolphins, and even got to swim with them in Hawaii. She enjoyed traveling throughout Europe.

She was preceded in death by her parents, losing her mom at only 8, and her brothers Chad and Rick Olsen, both of SLC. She is survived by her husband, Frank Terklelson, of Ogden, and sisters Sherri Olsen of Logan, Utah and Lisa King of SLC, Utah.

This isn't goodbye but see you later. Until we meet again sweet girl. We love you, Raquel. May you feel all our love and carry it with you always. We wish you continued peace, love, light, joy, and happiness. Fly high angel!

A celebration of life will be held in her honor on Friday, December 17, from 3-5 at Aaron's mortuary. 496 24th Street in Ogden.
