Rebecca Ann Alvarez Layne

Rebecca Ann Alvarez Layne, age 62, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Mckay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah with her family at her side. 

She was born on June 7, 1962, to Rueben C. and Dora C. Alvarez in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She grew up in Las Cruces, New Mexico where she remained until 1992 when she moved her daughters to Utah. Those who met her always remember her by her bright smile and her loud, bubbly, vibrant personality.

Those left to mourn her include her 3 daughters: Desirea Walker (Brent-her favorite son-in-law) of Ogden, Utah, Kristi Schunior of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Dora Dominguez of Roy, Utah; her granddaughters, Emilee and Addilyn Walker of Ogden; her brother, Ronnie Alvarez of Las Cruces, New Mexico; and brother-in-law, Jose Carlos Dominguez of San Antonio, Texas. She was preceded in death by her dad in 2021, her mom in 2019, and her brother, Ruben E. Alvarez, in 2017.

At Rebecca’s request, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at a date still to be determined. Her daughters would like to thank everyone for the love and support we’ve received during this difficult time.
