Richard Darrell Burk

Richard Darrell Burk passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 8, 2013 with his wife of 70 years by his side.

He was born August 9, 1920 in Ogden, Utah to Darrell William Burk and Lula Hutchins.

He attended grade school and high school in Ogden where he graduated from Ogden High School in 1939. After high school he attended Utah State for three years before joining the Army-Air Force until 1946. He worked for the Department of Defense for 30 years in a number of locations. He retired in 1979 and returned to Utah, where he resided in Roy, Utah.

Richard married Zenna Cluff April 3, 1943; they had two children. Richard enjoyed hunting and fishing on his younger years. He enjoyed gardening and family history research in his later years.

He was a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Zenna; children, Richard Scott (Li) Burk, Michael Jerry (Linda) Burk, six grandchildren and five great-grand children.

The family would like to thank the Stony Brooke Assisted Care facility who made his last days as comfortable as possible.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at 1 pm at Aaron's Ogden Mortuary, 496 24th Street, Ogden, Utah. Friends may visit with the family from 12-12:45 pm prior to services. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
