Richard "Dicky" Martinez was born January 2, 1954 in Pueblo, Colorado. After he moved to Ogden,Utah, he and his brother began playing music at a very young age and formed the Little Big Band.
Though band members have changed throughout the years, Dicky has kept the music and the band going, brightening peoples' lives for well over 30 years. Each and every day he was grateful and thankful to do what he loved, playing music.
He also loved the freedom of riding his motorcycle, especially when his wife was riding with him. He met and kept many friends through the shared interest of riding the open road. His incredible sense of humor, charisma and compassion for all others have made him very dear friends throughout the years.
He leaves behind his incredibly strong mother, Mary; his true love, Merideth, that he has shared the last 26 years with; his son, Kylan; daughters, Faith and Ashley; siblings, Joe, Helen, Susie, and Lorie; 5 grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews and c ousins that he loved dearly.
A Celebration of his life will be held at his second home, D&R Spirits, February 2, 2013 from noon to close with many of his musician friends playing in tribute throughout the day.
His philosophy was to live life to the fullest and on that note....1, 2, 3, Sociable!
