Rob Cruz

To begin writing this is to begin truly accepting that he is gone, and to read this is to acknowledge the fact of it. My dad, Roberto Cavazos Cruz passed away on January 13th, 2025, letting the angels above guide him to reunite with loved ones he had already lost. Greeting them with the biggest smile, but a bittersweet heart. For to be able to see them once more, it means he had to have left us down on earth, forevermore yearning for his presence once again, and wishing on every star for one last hug. He was born on July 21st, 1981, into a family with many amazing people. Throughout his life he moved from his childhood home in California to Brigham City, Utah, where he started a family of his own with his wife Cristina Cruz. My dad was a man of comfort. He could make someone feel safe and understood with simple words, or even just by giving a reassuring look. Knowing that life can be short, he always made sure to remind us to live in the moment and make the best of any situation. He was humble but confident, knowing that he tried to be the best father, but confident that he would be one of our biggest supporters through every achievement and every downfall. He used to say “I’m always okay” which he once told me meant that even though things would get challenging, it didn’t matter. As long as he had the ones he cared about by his side, he would always be okay. He will be forever missed and loved by so many people. May he finally be at peace.

He is survived by his lifelong partner Cristina Cruz, his son Alexander Cruz, and his daughter Alize Cruz. 

Viewing and service  will be held on Friday January 24, 2025, at Aaron’s Mortuary, 888 S Main St. Brigham City, UT, 84302 at the following times: Rosary: 4:30-5:00 pm, Viewing: 5:00-7:00 pm, Open Mic: 7:00 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be on Saturday January 25, 2025, at 12:00 noon at St. Henry’s Catholic Church, 380 S 200 E, Brigham City, UT 84302. Lunch will be provided after Mass. 

As requested by the family, attire for the viewing is preferred to be Raiders clothing or you could wear his favorite color Red. 

The Cruz Family would like to thank all of our friends, family and all of those who have shown their love and support to us during this difficult time. We appreciate all of the prayers, kind words, support and love that has been shown to us. There are no words that can ever begin to express how truly thankful we as a family are for every single one of you. Thank you all for giving us a shoulder to cry and lean on during this extremely rough period. God bless you all and your families.
