Robert "Bob" Merenda passed away on March 31, 2009 with his family at his side. He was born June 27, 1939 in Bronx, New York to Frank and Laura Bernosky Merenda.

Bob was proud to be a veteran of the Coast Guard and U.S. Navy. After leaving the Navy, he worked at McClellan Air Force Base, California, and retired after 33 years of service. He was extremely proud of his Italian heritage, if you were Italian, you were immediately a friend for life.

He leaves behind his wife, Glynda Merenda, daughters Toni Ramacciotti of California and Stacey Lopez of Utah, sons Bobby and Jeff Merenda of California., James Lopez of Utah, Son-in-law Tony Ramacciotti to whom he is leaving his beloved daughter to tenderly love and care for. Big brother to Fran Merenda, Barbara Lauszus and "Bro" Fred Lauszus all of California. Special Uncle that will be remembered by all of his nieces and nephews forever. Special friends Frank and Kathy Zamudio, Rodney and Karen Porter of Utah and Rich and Judee Maye of California.

Bob loved life and enjoyed being with his friends. He wanted his friends to remember his laughter and not his passing. Those of you that know Bob are invited to the Stockman's Lounge in Layton on Saturday, April 18th, between 1:00 and 4:00 pm, to give a final salute before he is taken home.

Our family wishes to express our sincere gratitude for the kindness that has been given by all.

Memorial service will be held in Sacramento, California.
