Robert Mervin Smith

Robert Mervin Smith passed away on February 3, 2025, at the age of 78 after suffering multiple medical problems. 

He was born June 15, 1946, in Rupert, Idaho, to Mervin Smith and Ruth (Decker) Smith. The family moved to Utah when he was young. After moving back to Idaho, he later settled in Utah for the remainder of his life.

Robert enjoyed watching football and was a big fan of the Minnesota Vikings. He liked to read and listen to music. He also enjoyed spending time with his senior companion/friend, Dale. One of his favorite things to do with Dale was to go out for coffee. He previously volunteered through the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program. He was very proud when he was recognized for the large number of hours he volunteered.

He is survived by nieces and great nephews in Utah as well as family in Idaho. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, brothers, and other family members. He was also preceded by his good friends, Blake and Joe, and his fur baby, Noel.

Robert will be cremated, and no services will be held. He will be missed, but his family is comforted that he is at peace and no longer struggling with health issues.
