Roger Farrel McAfee

August 12, 1933 — October 10, 2024

Roger Farrel McAfee, a proud veteran of the Air Force and the Utah Air National Guard, was born on August 12, 1933, in Salt Lake City, Utah and peacefully passed away on October 10, 2024, in Layton, Utah.

Roger was the son of Douglas L. McAfee and Helen T.M. Hancock. He married the love of his life, Sherrill Robb, on January 28, 1956. Together, they built a life filled with joy and cherished memories. Roger dedicated 15 years to the FAA, ultimately retiring from the Utah Air National Guard and moving to Grand Junction, Colorado. After Sherrill's passing, he moved to Layton, Utah, to be closer to his family.

An enthusiastic outdoorsman, Roger found great pleasure in fishing, hunting, and spending precious time with his horses and dogs. Above all, he treasured moments shared with friends and family, which brought him immense joy throughout his life.

Roger is survived by his daughter, Linda McAfee, and he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sherrill, and son, Kenneth.

A graveside service will be held in his honor on October 16, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Roosevelt Memorial Park, 400 U.S. Hwy 40, Roosevelt, Utah 84066.

The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the caring staff of Symbii Home Health and Hospice for their support during this time. An additional thank you to Aaron's Mortuary for making this process so easy.
