Roger Dean Wardleigh

Roger Dean Wardleigh was born May 15, 1957 to Robert W. Wardleigh and RuthAnn Stoddard Wardleigh.  He died January 27, 2019 from heart failure near Cedar City. At a young age Roger’s parents divorced.  He was raised in Roy by his parents Bob and Darlene Hansen Wardleigh. He was the sixth of seven children.

Roger was very athletic in his youth and played all sports.  He was a lifelong Green Bay Packers fan, he loved drag racing, and he always enjoyed hoisting a cold one with his buddies.  He received his schooling in Roy,Utah, graduating from Roy High School in 1975.

Roger married Marci Lundgreen in 1977 and they later divorced.  In 1985 Roger married Jodi Child. Together they had two boys Tyson and Zachary. Roger and Jodi later divorced.  Roger was blessed with two grandchildren, Jaden and Zehida, Roger’s pride and joy.

Roger worked at Hill Air Force Base as a mechanic for 33 years before retiring.

Roger is survived by his sons Tyson and Zachary of Las Vegas, his grandchildren Jaden and Zehida Wardleigh, siblings, Richard (Janis) Wardleigh, Riverdale, Rodney (Cheryl) Thompson, Spanish Fork, Robert (Cheri) Wardleigh, West Point, Debbie Augustine, Diane (Al) George, and Roberta (Sandy) Wardleigh, Roy. Gary (Marvela) Toomer, Julie (Dave) Keller, and Angie (Jason) Winston, of Washington State, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents Bob and Darlene Wardleigh and Ruth and Gary Toomer, as well as an infant brother John Toomer.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 23rd, 2019 at the Riverdale 1st Ward chapel 1056 W 4400 S starting at 1:00 PM.  Family will be available for visitation 30 minutes prior to the service.  Roger’s final resting place will be Ogden City Cemetery.
