Ronda Parkinson Hardy

September 5, 1951 — December 1, 2024

Life sketch of Ronda Parkinson Hardy

Ronda was born on September 5, 1951, to Ronald and Janeen Garrett of Wellsville, UT. She would be the first of four children born to Ronald and Janeen. She was the first grandchild for Henry Garrett, who I am told loved her immensely and spoiled her rotten. He would bring candy and toys every chance he got.

She moved over the mountain to Brigham City in 1955 where, later, she would attend Lincoln Elementary school. Ronda belonged to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and belonged to the 7th ward, where she was active in the gospel.

Ronda had four main friends she always hung out with: Charlene Skeen, Sherry Geysler, Connie Farnsworth, and Linda Ayala. I have been told she was best friends with Connie and that the two were inseparable.

Ronda attended Box Elder High School where she would later graduate. Ronda loved music and was a big fan of Elvis Presley. Her and her friends ended up driving themselves down to Las Vegas to watch him perform right before he passed away. And later in life took joy in telling the story of that trip to her kids.

Ronda’s first job was at Brigham Apparel and loved the freedom that provided and was so excited about working that she saved and bought her brother and sisters Christmas presents that year. Ronda always took joy in service and helping others.

In 1971, she married Keith Hardy and would later bring four boys into this world. She was an amazing mother who cared so much for those around her. She loved the Church and belonged to the Brigham City 24th ward where she would meet (in mom’s words), her soul sister, Paige Corrbridge who she remained close with until the end of her life. She would hold various callings throughout her life such as working with the young women being in the relief society presidency and the one she would say was the most fun and brought so much joy was being a temple worker in the Ogden Utah Temple.

Ronda would hold various jobs in her life but the one she loved the most was being a bus aide for the Box Elder School District she loved little kids.

Ronda had several hobbies which included crafting with her family and rock hounding with their good friends, she loved sparklies! She also loved camping as she would spend most of her summers growing up in Island Park, Idaho and she would later transfer the love for the outdoors to her sons. She also shared the passion for fishing with her father and later learned to tie flies and she tied amazing wooly bugger flies.

Ronda has ten grandkids and seven great grandkids and those were her greatest joy in life. She will be greatly missed.
