Rusty Trent Shearwood returned to the arms of his Heavenly Father on August 19, 2022, at the age of 42, in Layton, Utah.
Rusty was born to Lavern Delker on May 10, 1980 in Layton, Utah.
He attended Northridge High School, graduating in 1998.
Rusty Moved to Panama City, Florida in 2001, and spent much of his adult life there, returning to Utah in 2019.
Rusty enjoyed being outside, and chose professions that allowed him to do so, working in construction, and building ships.
Rusty became a father in January 2008. As a child, Cadon Blake Shearwood was his daddy’s little shadow and followed Rusty around everywhere he could, even when Rusty was just doing household chores. Cadon was the light of Rusty’s life; when talking with Rusty, the conversation was oftentimes about Cadon. Rusty was immensely proud of his son.
Rusty loved playing basketball, fishing, cooking, spending time on the beach, and cheering for the Buffalo Bills and the Utah Jazz.
Rusty was a free spirit, and a wild child. He loved to adventure, and his mom remembers visiting the emergency room almost every summer during his childhood.
Rusty was a jokester, but those who knew him best, knew him as a sensitive soul who wore his heart on his sleeve.
Rusty was preceded in death by his grandma, Mary Ellen Williams, and his grandpa, K.C. Shearwood.
He is survived by his son, Cadon Shearwood; mom, Lavern Delker; sister, Sharon Christofferson; brothers, Casey Webster and Jason Delker; and lifelong friends, Landon Hampshire and Caleb Whitesides.
A celebration of life will be held for Rusty on Monday, September 12, 5-8pm at Ogden Botanical Gardens, 1750 Monroe Blvd, Ogden, Utah.
