Ruth Frances Davis, 81, passed at Sunshine Terrace Foundation returning to our Father and loved ones on April 15, 2012. She was born April 21, 1930 in Owatonna, Minnesota to Ernest Henry Bathel and Rose Dusek. She was born into a large family with eight other brothers and sisters.
Her young life was spent working on the farm with animals and singing in church. Her singing talent was put on the radio and shared with her local community. She married April 21, 1952 to George Martin Davis and moved from Texas to Simi Valley California. Together they raised three children, Martin Davis, Wesley Davis and Carrie Davis. She was involved in church, served by teaching Sunday school and directing Christmas plays. During the summers her family vacations were spent in Yosemite National Park. She loved Yosemite, her many memories were often revisited during her later life by her family. She loved to talk about her river float trips and hikes into the beautiful valley forest. She always loved animals and wanted to care for every animal she saw.
Her love of music was shared with many residents, visitors and staff at Sunshine Terrance. She knew so many songs and was able to touch so many people with her love. Her voice would reach out and place a smile on your face. I know the last couple of years of her life were very happy cheerful times. She felt worth with her singing and felt love from the staff, visitors and friends at Sunshine Terrace Foundation.
Her children, grand children and great grand children survive her. The family would like to express a special thank you to the nurses, aides, caregivers, doctors and staff at Sunshine Terrace and visitors who came to Sunshine Terrace and spent time with our mother. She loved singing, attending church and the many activities she was able to attend. You touched her heart and ours and made her life special. Thank you so much.
