Samuel F DeCorso

April 12, 1918 — August 17, 2014

OGDEN - Samuel Frances DeCorso passed away peacefully  in his sleep on August 17, 2014 at Chancellor Gardens in Clearfield.

He was born April 12, 1918 in Red Lodge, Montana, a son of Elivira Giardelli and Samuele DeCorso.

He came to Ogden in the early 1920’s where he graduated from Ogden High School.  He worked for the the Ogden Arsenal where he tested over a million guns before its closure and then worked at Hill Air Force Base where he worked in procurement and logistics. 

He married  Erma DeCorso on November 3, 1940.  They were childhood friends and were married for 64 years before her death in 2004.  

He is survived by his daughter, Diane DeCorso, San Francisco; 3 grandchildren, Michael Labrecque and wife Dierdra of Hereford, Arizona, Jon DelBino and wife Jennifer Davis of Lafayette, California and Michelle Labrecque of Sunset, Utah; and 3 great grandchildren, Daniel DelBino, Victoria DelBino and Garret Labrecque.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Natalie Crouch in 1999.

He will be remembered for his incredible love and devotion to his family and friends, his wonderful sense of humor, his lifelong intelligence and creativity, and his fun Panama hat, twinkle in his eyes and the always present swagger when he walked.

Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at 10 a.m. at  St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 514 24th St., Ogden, Utah.  Friends may call at Aaron’s Mortuary, 496 24th Street, Ogden, Utah on  Tuesday, August 26, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. with rosary recited at 7 p.m.

Interment, Aultorest Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Alzheimers Association (www.alz.org).
