Shari Hull, one of Barbara Mandrell's biggest fans, passed away unexpectedly in her sleep at home in Plain City, Utah on Sunday, December 20, 2020 surrounded by 5 loving cats. She was born May 21, 1963 in Ogden, Utah to Dean Robert and Carolean Bigham Hull. She was the the baby of the family.
Shari was raised in Ogden and Hooper. She attended Weber County schools and graduated from Roy High School. She was employed at IRS for many years and spent her time attending every Barbara Mandrell concert she could. She traipsed all over the country with friends and family. She even moved to Branson Missouri so she could attend every single concert Barbara and her Do Rights performed for the last two years of her career! Those were the highlights of her life.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had served a mission to Switzerland, where she loved the people there. Her mission was cut short by illness. She always wanted to return with her family.
Shari's adult life was fraught with challenges which caused much pain and sorrow to herself and her family. She struggled with substance abuse and spent a lot of time trying to recover. As she overcame one issue she would find herself struggling with another issue that would eventually lead her to dark paths. Just as she tried to improve her life she was struck by a drunk driver as she waited to cross a darkened street. Both legs were broken and this was the start of a series a health issues which eventually took her life.
She was a sassy, short girl with a strong opinion about most things. She loved watching crime drama of every kind, doing puzzles, crossword puzzles, word searches, watching game shows, etc. She loved animals, especially cats. She may or may not have kidnapped a few cats along the way. She was constantly putting food out here and there for the neighborhood cats to enjoy. We were often surprised to find cats stashed in the garage or storage room as she wanted to save and rescue every one of them. Her final moments were spent surrounded by her "babies".
She is survived by her parents, two brothers and one sister: Brian and Kathie Hull, Blaine and Stephanie Hull, and Donna Mann. She is survived by many nieces and nephews as well as aunts, uncles and cousins.
