Sharlene Branz

April 4, 1956 — September 15, 2011

NO. OGDEN-Sharlene Branz passed away Thursday, September 15, 2011 at St. Mark's Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah due to complications following surgery. She was born April 4, 1956 to Gilbert and Beverly Smith Barker in Ogden, Utah.

Sharlene attended Weber High school and later graduated from Weber District Adult High School. She married Brian Olsen and they had two children, Stacey and Brandon, later divorcing. Sharlene married Steve Branz, they had a daughter, Linzi, and later divorced.

Sharlene enjoyed crocheting, bowling, softball, boating, and sunbathing in her younger years. Trips to Wendover & Las Vegas with friends and family were events she always looked forward to. She also never missed an opportunity to spoil her grandchildren who loved her dearly and referred to her as "Grandma Shar".

Shar worked as a tax examiner for the I.R.S. receiving an award for thirty years of service.

She had an easy calm way about her and never like to cause, create, or be involved in conflict. Because of these traits she made friends easily and maintained life-long friendships. You could tell her anything and know you would not be judged although she might have a few pieces of advice or an opinion to share with you. You could always count on her to help you if you really needed it. She possessed a selflessness that is unsurpassable.

Sharlene is survived by her daughters, Stacey Olsen (Cory) McCree and Linzi Branz both of North Ogden; son Brandon (Jenny) Olsen of Idaho Falls, ID; brothers, Keith Barker, Kent Barker; sister, Karen Deschamps. Also survived by nine grandchildren: Alex Johnson, Jayden McCree, Tyra McCree, Lyric McCree, Riley Olsen, Carston Olsen, Madeline Olsen, Cameron Reeves and Khloe Reeves.

Preceded in death by her parents.

A gathering of family and friends will be held to celebrate and commemorate Shar's life on Sunday, September 18, 2011 from 1:00-3:00pm, hosted by Emily Deeter at 4788 South 1500 East, Ogden, Utah
