Sharon Sue Hislop

Sharon Sue Burkhart Hislop, 73, of Ogden, Utah passed away peacefully holding the hands of her family March 15, 2018.  Sharon was born in Ogden, the youngest daughter of Carl and Velma Burkhart. 

 She married Richard Mattson in 1960; they were later divorced.  She married Richard Hislop in 1985 in Ogden.

Sharon was a kind and gentle soul in spite of her tremendous loss, always smiling with her giant, gentle Burkhart eyes.   She enjoyed working as a dispatcher for Weber County Sherriff's Office for many years.    Sharon loved camping, music and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Rex Mattson of Ogden; two sisters, Joan Berg and Mary Johnson, both of Roy; two granddaughters, Sharon Mattson of West Haven and Amber Mattson of Willard; 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by two very special friends, Heidi Mower of Washington Terrace and Kristen Burris of Ogden.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Velma Burkhart, one brother, Jimmy Burkhart; and her oldest son, Rick Mattson, two granddaughters, Amanda Mattson and Vanessa Mattson, all of Ogden; and a very special brother-in-law, Hank Berg of Roy.

The family would like to thank Cassie at McKay-Dee Hospital for her support and kindness.
