Shawn Luke Muniz "Fast Shawn" Shawn L. Muniz 21, passed away Monday, July 1, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. Shawn was born December 29, 1991, son of Maria Muniz White and Freddie White, Sr. He was raised by "Mom", Kathy (Honey) Mora since he was 7 years old entering into the 2nd grade. Shawn was an avid Raiders fan and he loved being out on the court or the field whether it be playing basketball, soccer, but he excelled in football from little league to Ogden High School as a wide receiver, defensive back/ kicker returner, receiving many awards including; Class 4-A All-Star Honorable Mention, Ogden High Varsity Award. His football stats include; total receiving yards 702, average receiving yards 21.94, catches 32, receiving yards per game 70.2, receiving TDs 11, and total TDs 12.Words from Shawn's Ogden High football coach, Eric Eyre, "Shawn is a great athlete with a lot of potential." Shawn graduated from Ogden High School in 2010. He was currently attending Ogden/ Weber Applied College working towards his Accounting degree, while working temporarily for Smith's Warehouse, Layton, Utah. Shawn is survived by his daughter, Azyriah Jade Muniz; his significant other, Andraya Roberson, "Honey"; his big sister,Essie ("Big Shasta") Rocha; brothers, Dario Muniz, Freddie White Jr., Isaiah Rocha, Danny Gomez, Armondo Gomez and Desmond Gomez;Tia Rita (Elio) Salinas; cousin, Angelica Muniz; nieces and nephew and many aunts, uncles and cousins. The family would like to extend a special Thank you to Rob and Carolyn Thachary and Tracy (Frog) and Diana Davis for being a positive influence in Shawn's life. Shawn is preceded in death by his Grandma Lola (Mora) Muniz, many aunts,uncles and cousins. Funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at 11 am, at St Mary's Catholic Church, 4050 S 3900 W, West , Haven, UT. Friends may visit with family on Monday, July 8, 2013 from 6-8 pm at Aarons Mortuary, 496 24th St, Ogden, UT, Holy Rosary will be held at 7pm. "Shawners," you will be missed by all your family and friends, but you will never be forgotten. We Love You!
