Shawn Francis Spendlove

Shawn Francis Spendlove, father, brother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on Friday July 12, 2024, at the age of 60.

Shawn was born in Ogden, Utah on October 28, 1963, to Yolanda Manfredi and Grant Spendlove. He grew up with boundless energy and spent his younger years playing sports, including baseball and football. He attended Bonneville High School and graduated in 1982. He later attended Weber State College.

Shawn married Jean Byington on May 4, 1991. They had two children.

He grew up attending Catholic services. He was later baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on June 25, 2016. He had great memories of both faiths.

Shawn’s favorite thing was to make people laugh and was constantly telling jokes. He loved helping people, even if he didn’t have much to give. He enjoyed music, Italian food, and was extremely proud of his Italian heritage.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Grant Spendlove (father) and Yolanda Manfredi (mother); and his siblings, Deborah Gamble and Michele Johanson.

Shawn is survived by his children, Chase (Krystal) Spendlove and Shaylee (Brandon) Taylor; his former spouse, Jean Spendlove; and his siblings: Judy Martin, Jay (Terry) Spendlove, Diane Pennington, and Michael (Laura) Spendlove.

The viewing will be held at Aaron’s Mortuary, 496 24th Street, Ogden, Utah 84401, on July 25, 2024, from 10 to 10:45 a.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 514 24th Street, Ogden, Utah 84401, shortly after at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at the Ogden City Cemetery.
