Sherry Lee Mosser

June 18, 1961 — January 14, 2017

Our daughter, sister, mother, and friend, Sherry Lee Hayes Mosser, 55, passed away at Ogden Regional Medical Center on Saturday, January 14, 2017, surrounded by her family.

Sherry was born on June 18, 1961, to James H. and Mary Lou Barber Hayes. Her family resided in Glendora, CA until 1971 when they moved to Farmington, UT. Sherry attended Davis High School with the class of 1979.

Sherry married the love of her life, William “Kirby” Mosser on July 27, 1984, and became a step-mom to Amber and Adam. They made many memories together as a family, but some of the most cherished ones were the annual camping trips to Hoop Lake, panning for gold, and hunting at Devil’s Playground.

Sherry worked with the youth and young children in various capacities throughout her life. She had a kind and caring heart and found joy in being around children. She loved and took pride in each of her 7 grandchildren and referred to herself as “Nana Mosser”.

She had a soft spot in her heart for animals, specifically any with special needs. Sherry and Kirby fostered, loved, and cared for many dogs and cats and considered each one of them a member of their family. There wasn’t a time when Sherry didn’t have either a cat or a dog living with her.

Sherry and Kirby enjoyed a simple life together. They truly were each other’s forever love and Sherry was deeply saddened at Kirby’s passing in 2011. We know Sherry is experiencing a joyful reunion, especially with Kirby, and so many other loved ones who have preceded her.

Sherry is survived by her mother, Mary Lou; sister Luann (Lucky) Lukenbach; brother, Steve; step-daughter, Amber (Bruce) Campbell; step-son, Adam (Nellie) Mosser; and 7 grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William Kirby Mosser; father, James H. Hayes; mother-in-law, Beatrice Anderson Mosser; father-in-law, William Adam Mosser; and daughter-in-law, Candace Clark Mosser.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bountiful City Cemetery. No formal viewings will take place.
