Sheryl Ann Seamons

November 6, 1947 — September 24, 2012

Sheryl Ann Seamons, loving wife, mother, and grandmother passed away on September 24, 2012 due to ALS. She was born on November 6, 1947 in Hawthorne, California, 11 minutes after her identical twin sister, Sandra Marie, to Margaret Ann (Peggy) Conquest and James R. Harrison. At age 6, the Harrison twins were signed by Warner Brothers Studio to a five-year movie contract. They appeared in 2 movies with Patty Duke as well as some commercials. She and Sandy attended Catholic schools for 8 years, then went to and graduated from Inglewood High School in 1965. She met Bill Smyth at school and they were married on December 4, 1964. She and Bill had 2 children, Daniel Kevin Smyth and Michael Allen Smyth. She and Bill moved often to follow his work. She and Bill were later divorced. She worked for seven years at Kaiser-Permanente as an RNA in Sacramento, California. While living in Folsom, California, she met and married James Zimmerman. In 1975 her twin sister, Sandy, died of cancer. In 1989 she and Jim moved to Ogden, Utah to help care for Jim's mother who lived here. In 1993 she went back to California to care for her mother who soon died of cancer. About that time when she returned home to Ogden, her husband Jim was diagnosed with ALS. She took care of Jim for 4 1/2 years, then he died of his illness on December 7, 1997. In 1998, she met Royce Seamons. In 1999 they started to go together and got married on April 7, 2001. So all at once she had 9 step-children and 32 step-grandchildren. She soon learned to love and enjoy all of them. She and Royce took a long honeymoon, going through 34 states in 46 days. She loved the whole trip, especially Tunica; Branson; Louisville; Nashville; Atlantic City; New York; Cape Cod; Plymouth; Portland,Maine- then back through Niagra Falls; Toronto, Canada; Port Huron; Mt. Rushmore; Yellowstone Park; Cody, Wyoming and home at last. Soon the great-grandchildren started to arrive. She enjoyed making sweaters, caps, and blankets for them. She entered some of her blankets and sweater sets in the County Fair and won many blue ribbons. She even won "The Best of Show" 2 times at the State Fair in Salt Lake City. She became very active in the F.O.E. Aux. 2472 in Ogden, duel member in Roy Aux. 3355, duel member in Lake Havasue City, Arizona F.O.E. Aux 4299. She went through all of the officer stations in Ogden and became Madam President in 2005-2006. She later became Madam President in Roy in 2010-2011. She enjoyed ritual competition and became very good at it, winning many trophies. She even won 2-individual 100% trophies at her first National Competition in Spokane, Washington. She loved going to Wendover and Las Vegas, so every time we could go, we did. Her ALS illness was very advanced and very debilitating by the time it was properly diagnosed. So, the Good Lord (in his infinite wisdom), decided to return her broken, painful body and her active, alert, frustrated mind back to heaven. We are sure that her Mother and Father, and her twin sister, Sandy, are waiting to welcome her back to heaven. So long, for now, we love you. Your loving husband, family and many friends. We will have a Memorial and Celebration of her life at the Ogden Eagles 2472 at 975 Wall Ave. from 1:00 - 3:00 PM on Saturday, October 6. A light lunch will follow. Family and friends are invited
