Shirley Deneise Fuller Haldeman

Shirley Deneise Fuller Haldeman passed away peacefully on Friday evening, February 19, 2010.

Shirley was born June 21, 1923 in Eden, Utah, a daughter of Leonard and Phylis Mildred Berlin Fuller. She grew up in Eden, and attended school in Ogden Valley. She graduated from Weber High School where she was secretary of her junior class and vice president of the student body during her senior year. She also attended Weber College.

Shirley was one of three women to join the Marine Corp from the Valley and met Howard E Haldeman when they were both stationed in Hawaii. After their discharge from the Marine Corps, they married and spent their earliest married years in Akron, Indiana.

Shirley and Howard later moved to Saratoga, California where they raised two sons, Douglas Alan and Eugene Steven Haldeman. Here they built Haldeman Constrution Company together. In 1970, Howard and Shirley moved to Eden where theyeventually retired.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Howard; her sons Doug (Denice) and SteveHaldeman She is also survived by her sister Marvel sister-in-law Bette and brother Kent Dee (Sue) Fuller. She is also survived by three beautiful granddaughters, Lyssa, Loran, and Jessie; great-grand children Sawyer and Cole Archuleta; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Phylis Fuller, her in-laws Lloyd and Irene Haldeman, her brother Leonard Mack Fuller, brother-in-law Wayne Pendergraft, and grandson Steven Max Haldeman.

The family wishes to thank Peach Tree Place and Hospice for Utah for their compassionate care.

A gathering will be held February 27, 2010 at 9 AM at Larkin Mortuary, 496 E 24th Street, Ogden, UT. A private interment for family will be held at Mountain View Cemetery where military honors will be accorded. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Aaron's Mortuary and Crematory of Ogden.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association Utah Chapter (alz.org/utah/).
