Shirley Marie Kennedy

Shirley Marie Smith Kennedy, 65, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family and friends after a brief, but courageous battle with cancer on September 12, 2009. Beloved wife, mother of four, a proud grandmother and a loving and loyal friend. Shirley was born on Jan. 18, 1944 to Delbert and Mildred Smith. She has two sisters, Karen and Patricia and one brother, Clark.

She grew up in South Weber. Shirley graduated from Utah State University. On July 28, 1967 Shirley married her true love Jerry William Kennedy. They were married and sealed in the Logan Temple. They have been happily married for 41 years. Shirley always put her husband and her children before anything else. She had a love for children and she taught kindergarten. She spent her summers in Bear Lake.

Shirley was an active member of the LDS Church, she and her family have lived 41 years in the Washington Terrace area. She had a calling in the relief society.

She is survived by her husband, four children, Devin, Tiffany, Brandon and Shantell, a son in law, Donald, a daughter in law, Laura, and three grandsons, Corbin, Logan and Gavin, her sisters, and her brother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and step parents.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday September 19, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Washington Terrace 7th ward Chapel located at 328 W 4900 S Washington Terrace Utah. A viewing will be held in her honor on Friday September 18th at the church from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and for one hour prior to the service.

Interment, Aultorest Cemetery, 836 - 36th street Ogden.
