Stella Jo Hayes

Our beloved mother, grandma, and great-grandma, Stella Jo Hayes of Clinton, Utah, sadly passed away on October 24, 2024, at the age of 80 years old. Stella was born on December 1, 1943, in Yakima, W.A., to John and Edna (Harrell) Deringer in Yakima, Washington. She was one of ten children. 

Stella married Edward “Eddie” in 1960, during their fourteen-year marriage they had four children: John, Paul, Charles, and Carol. 

Stella spent her time with her grandkids and great grandkids playing video games, watching television, and just enjoying their company. She spent many years as a cashier at K-Mart stores and several gas stations throughout Davis County. 

Stella was preceded in death by her parents, John and Edna Deringer; many siblings; her ex-husband, Edward Hayes; her son, Robert Hayes; a stillborn child; and a grandson, Derrick Chapple.

She is survived by her children: John Hayes, Paul Hayes, Charles Hayes, and Caroline (Bill) Chapple; her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as some siblings.

Stella was adored by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will be forever missed by all who knew her.

A small casual, after burial gathering will be held on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Clinton Cemetery located at 813 N 750 W, Clinton, Utah.
