Steven Padilla

Steven Padilla, 63, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2021, at home in his sleep.

He was born June 10, 1958, in Alamosa, Colorado, son of Vidal Padilla and Stella Ochoa (Maze). Steven married Joann Therea Gallegos February 18, 1984, in Ogden, Utah.

Steven was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. He worked for the Utah State Department in Ogden, Utah, and mechanical shops for many years. He enjoyed life and was always helping others in need, working on cars, and landscaping. Everyone called him Pops, that became his nickname. Steven loved spending time with all the grandkids, always getting them all energized and wild.

He always treated everyone like family, with love and respect. Always ready to lend a hand or help with anything he could. He was never one to judge, you could come to him with anything and he would listen.

Steven is survived by his wife Joann Padilla, children Stevie Jr. Padilla, Nathan Robert Padilla, Joseph Andrew (Tiffany) Padilla, 9 grandchildren, his sisters Della Valasquez (Robert), brothers Gilbert Archuleta (Toni), Larry Padilla, Gabriel Padilla, and Pete Padilla.

Steven is preceded in death by his brothers John Padilla, Jimmy Archuleta (Cynthia), and sister Flo Johnson (Ray).

The family will greet friends at Aaron’s Mortuary 496 24th Street Ogden, Utah on Tuesday August 31, 2021, from 6-8pm with a Rosary at 7:00pm.

On September 1, 2021, a funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 10am to 11am.

Celebration of life will be held September 4, 2021, at Riverdale Park (Bowery #1 on Parker Drive) from 12-2pm. Bring a side dish if you would like, much appreciated.
