Theodore F. (Ted) Fallat , Sr, 93, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2013 at McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah. He was born a coal miner's son, in Alexandria, Pennsylvania on September 5, 1919 to Stephen and Anna Rezetta Fallat. Ted spent most of his growing up years moving with his family throughout the coal mines of Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Virginia then ending up in Danbury, Connecticut. He married Dorothea Krontilik, September 8, 1940. He was called into WWII in 1944 leaving a pregnant wife and daughter and served in the Navy in the Pacific through the end of the war and a tour in the Philippines before getting discharged in 1946. He returned to his machinist job at Bullards in Bridgeport, Connecticut then was employed by Consolidated Controls in Bethel, Connecticut. In 1981 they moved to Missoula, Montana and remained there until 2004 when they moved to Pleasant View, Utah to be close to his son because of his progressing blindness. Ted's two greatest passions, besides his loving wife of 72 years, was fishing and bowling. Later in life, after he retired in 1981,he took up the art of stained glass and produced hundreds of beautiful stained glass items before his failing eyesight ended his art career. He was a member of the St. James Catholic Church in Ogden, Utah. Ted is survived by his sister, Ethel Macchiaverna of Danbury, CT; children, Dorothea (Dot) Kupesky and husband Lance of Danbury, CT; Ted Jr. and his wife Linda Fallat of Pleasant View, UT; four grandchildren, Ted III of Great Falls, MT, Jim of Colorado Springs, CO, Rebecca Larson of Misssoula, MT, and Heidi Harberson of Washington DC; and four great-grandchildren Kaylee, Faith, Connor and Tanner all living in Montana. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothea and all but one of his brothers and sisters. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 13, 2013, at 1:00 pm at the St. James Catholic Church, 495 M. Harrison Blvd, Ogden, UT.
