Thomas Rivard Dufresne

Thomas Rivard Dufresne was born on March 25, 1942 in St. Paul, MN to parents Harold and Marian Dufresne.  He died on October 5, 2016 at the McKay Dee Hospital in Layton, UT. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and by his sister Kathryn (Frederick) Woltmann.

 He is survived by two brothers (David and Joel (Joanne) Dufresne of St. Paul, MN), six nieces and nephews (Alexandre and Thomas Dufresne, Rachael (Daniel) Berglund, Benjamin (Laura) Woltmann, Christa (Terry) Satterfield, and Jonathon (Danea) Woltmann), as well as by many grand-nieces and grand-nephews, and by the extended Woltmann family (Cindy Giles, Kathy Shilo, Heidi (David) Berglund, Patricia (Daniel) Siedenburg, PeterJohn (Tina) Woltmann, and Tammy (Brett) Turner)).

Thomas was active in aviation throughout his adult life, mainly as a flight instructor in Minnesota and Michigan and as an FAA inspector based in Salt Lake City.  He was a General College graduate of the University of Minnesota and a business graduate of Mankato State University in Minnesota.

In addition to his love of flying, Thomas was especially fond of classical music and was an active and devout Lutheran throughout his life.  Most recently, he was a member of the Cross of Christ Lutheran Church congregation in Bountiful.

Thomas was known in the family for his conservative values, even temperament, and generous spirit.  He was loved by them and will be greatly missed.
