Thomas (Tom) Niel Johnson of Syracuse, Utah, unexpectedly passed away at home on August 18, 2024, in the arms of his loving wife and youngest son. Tom was born on July 10, 1950, to Robert Lavar and Bernice Ferrin Johnson in Eugene, Oregon. He was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served a full-time mission in Colombia and Venezuela before marrying the love of his life in the Salt Lake Temple on November 15, 1973.
Tom was a devoted father, grandfather, and husband who made countless sacrifices for his family. He was married for over 50 years and held God, country, and family as the most important things in his life. Tom excelled at everything he did and was passionate about photography, music, leatherwork, and carpentry, earning many awards and recognitions. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, being out in nature and exploring new places, and genuinely loving all animals, especially wildlife. He found great satisfaction in working hard and perfecting his crafts, was always full of life and laughter, and enjoyed a little bit of harmless mischief to bring smiles to the faces of those dear to him.
Tom will be missed dearly by his loving wife, Ramona; cherished daughter, Cindy; sons: Andrew Niel, Jon, and Jeremy; his adoring grandchildren, Jonah and Kaylee; and his brothers: Charlie, Mike, and Glen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Johnson and Bernice Ferrin Johnson; his infant daughter, SheriAnna; and his eldest brother, Robert (Bob) Johnson.
A service to celebrate Tom’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at Aaron’s Mortuary, 1050 South State Street, Clearfield, Utah. Visitation with the family will be at 10:00 a.m. and the service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Tom will be laid to rest at the Syracuse City Cemetery.
The family expresses gratitude to all relatives, friends, neighbors, and church members for their care and support during this difficult time.
