THOMAS VAN LATTA

Thomas Van Latta passed away on February 18, 2011 in Ogden, UT surrounded by his family. Dad was born on July 17, 1939 in Murray, KY, the son of Van and Ruth Cherry Latta.

Dad married Lynda Glade on June 30, 1962. Together they had three children.

Dad graduated from Murray State in 1966. He worked for many years at Mosler Safe Co. He also served as the Executive Director of Handi Trans. Handi Trans was very important to Dad and he took great pride in serving the disabled community.

Dad's greatest passion was for golf. His family is taking comfort in knowing that he is golfing every day at the great country club in the sky.

Dad is survived by his sister, Nancy (Wendell) Wade of TN; children, Lanny (Cassie) Latta, TX; Nikki (Alika) Fernandez, UT; Michelle Latta, UT; as well as 5 grandchildren. Dad is also survived by his best friend and golf partner, Shirley Porter. Shirley lovingly stood by Dad's side through thick and thin. She opened his eyes to the world of travel and brought him great joy.

We are honoring Dad's request of cremation and no funeral services. The family is planning a celebration of Dad's life at the Barn Golf Course on March 10th from 5-7pm. We would also like to express our gratitude to the staff of the U of U Hospital and Wasatch Care Center; thank you for helping Dad and the family get through this difficult time.
