Tommy "Butch" Tompkins

Tommy Tompkins passed away on August 6th, 2018, at the age of 77. 

A native of Greenwood South Carolina, Tom grew up in several small towns in Southeastern Kentucky.  He graduated from Corbin High School in 1958 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Kentucky in 1962.

After graduating from UK, Tom joined the United States Air Force.  He was a decorated pilot and instructor and helped to defend our country until he was Honorably Discharged in 1984.

Tom was married to Jane Ratcliff in 1963 and later divorced.  He is survived by their three children, Laura Anne Tompkins of Georgetown Kentucky, Robert Bowen Tompkins of Roanoke Virginia, and Katharyn Leigh Rutledge of Georgetown Kentucky.  Tom had three grandchildren, Michael, Tyler and Ansley.

After his time in the Air Force, Tom went to work for Computer Sciences Corporation which brought him to his final home in Utah.  Tom spent the last 33 years of his life in the shadows of the Wasatch mountains with his beloved dogs, Minnie, Max, Calvin, Nick and Nora.
