Troy Lynn Kent

Troy Lynn Kent age 47, was reunited with his loved ones in heaven on February 18, 2023. He passed away unexpectedly in his home in Clearfield, Utah. Troy was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on January 30,1976 to Darrell Kent and Lee Taul (Butters). 

Troy moved to Manila, Utah in his early years of life with his mother and father, which is where he got his love for the outdoors at a young age. He loved fishing, hunting, camping, riding his BMX bike and many more things. His family then moved to Magna, Utah. Troy discovered a love for rodeo, especially riding bulls, and joined the high school rodeo team where he made some lifelong friends. He graduated from Cyprus High School. 

After graduating high school, Troy followed his love for working on cars and became a mechanic. He continued his career throughout his life. He could fix just about anything. He was the family mechanic and loved helping anyone who needed a helping hand.

Troy met and married Christy Corkern (Kent) and they had two beautiful daughters, Kimberly Kent and Brooke Kent. They spent many wonderful years together making memories with their daughters. Troy loved his family, and especially his girls more than anything.  

Troy was always in the mood for a laugh or a cold beer and always had a smile on his face. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, boating, and hanging out at the lake with his family and friends. As long as he had a fishing pole or a gun in his hand, he was happy. He loved watching football, especially his lifelong favorite team the San Francisco 49ers.

Troy is survived by his two children, Kimberly, and Brooke Kent; mother, Lee Butters; father, Darrell (Kathy) Kent; siblings, Amy (Mike) McBride, Travis (Deanna) Butters, Melissa (Stefan) Gomez, Lacey (Josh) Barnhart, Cjay (Monica) Butters, Lori Reed Hirsch, Steven Simons; grandchild, Paxton Rader; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and grandparents. 

Troy was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill Taul, Barbara Stewart, Richard “Dick” Kent, Joyce Kent; stepdad, Randy Butters; nephew, Riley Mowbray. 

Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 24, 2023, at 12:00pm at Aaron’s Mortuary, 496 24th Street, Ogden, Utah 84401. A viewing will be held prior to the Funeral Services from 10:00am-11:45am on Friday, February 24, 2023, at Aaron’s Mortuary.
