Troy John Lee
December 4, 1974-December 26, 2023
Troy John Lee, 49, snuck away on the evening of December 26th, 2023, after a hard-fought battle with cancer that took him too quickly. Troy was born in Ogden, Utah at McKay Dee Hospital on December 4th, 1974 to Jay and Susan (Raskop) Lee. He grew up in Roy, Utah where he attended Roy High School. Troy loved fishing, camping, and playing the drums. Music was life to him. The more metal, the better. He was always one to send a song that he was loving or that made him think of you. He was a Philadelphia Flyers supporter, but mostly he was a HUGE Washington Redskins fan. You would always see him wearing a hat or shirt that represented his team.
Troy had a wild side that fueled many adventures that are now beloved memories of his family and friends. He had a mind that was always scheming. He was forever planning tricks or ways to make everyday experiences more fun (and often more dangerous!) He was always cracking jokes and making light of any situation.
Troy had a huge heart. He felt things more deeply than most. He was a fierce protector of those he loved.
He felt immense joy in his work at Plastic's Inc. in Idaho Falls. The owners became Troy's second family. They showed him unwavering care and compassion during some very trying times. Their authentic concern, empathy, and love left an enduring mark on Troy's life.
But more than anything, spending time with his son Kyler was Troy's most favorite thing to do. Kyler held the key to his heart. Not one person in this universe was more important to him. Troy was always a kid at heart, which made him the funnest dad. Troy and Kyler enjoyed drawing together. They both loved superheroes and video games. Kyler didn't leave Troy's side as he fought cancer. We know Troy tried so hard to stay here as long as possible to be with Kyler.
Troy is survived by his son, Kyler Lee. His mother, Susan Funk. His father and stepmother, Jay and Sandy Lee. Brother, Josh (Kristina Gonzales.) Three sisters, Christa, Amy (Brady), and Jenni. Also, many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Troy is preceded in death by his grandparents, Jay and Elda Lee and Willis and Nellie Raskop.
We will be having a celebration of life on Saturday, January 20th, 2023, at the Copper Nickel located at 2450 Grant Avenue in Ogden, Utah from 1:00-4:00 pm. Please join us for lots of food and good music to celebrate Troy. We hope to hear all of your favorite memories of him.
