Tucker Roy Nipko

September 4, 1947 — October 14, 2012

Our kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away Sunday, October 14, 2012 at home of colon cancer. He was born September 4, 1947 to Roy and Flossie Alley Nipko.

Tuck grew up in Murray, Utah, and met and married his high school sweetheart, Connie Van de Merwe on June 15, 1968. They have been devoted to, adored, and loved each other dearly ever since. Together they raised their five children in the Ogden Valley.

He was in the Navy Reserves and spent 8 months in Antarctica. Tuck worked for the UPRR for 41 years where he held many positions and made lifelong friends.

He had a great love and found his peace being in the out of doors, hunting, fishing, camping, boating, snowmobiling, 4 wheeling, making many memories with his wife and children. Tuck loved to go to the Grand Mesa where he cherished his childhood memories. He also spent much time enjoying his playgrounds at his Island Park and Hurricane homes.

He will be remembered for his wise and caring ways, his honesty, strong moral values, and work ethic and taught us by example. He fought his difficult journey with cancer with much strength and courage, his love for life and active lifestyle. He loved all and was loved by all. We will miss him but his spirit will stay strong in our hearts. "Thank you honey, for caring for me and loving me more than anyone ever could have--thank you for choosing me, sweetheart. We will all continue to become stronger, kinder, more patient, loving people because of you."

He is survived by his wife, Connie and their five children--Pete (Kattie), Wendee (Keith) Hill, Rachael (Shane) Barker, Cori (Steve) Daily, and John (Kortney) and 14 grandchildren who adored him. Also his mother Flossie, brothers Jeff, Jack, and sister Mary.

He is preceded in death by son Tucker Roy, Jr. and his father Roy.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 19, 2012 at noon at the Huntsville Stake Center, 6450 E. 1900 N. in Eden, Utah, with a viewing at 11 a.m. Interment Meadow View Cemetery in Eden.
